Nemo Hornet 2P is one of the best in their brand that has high mesh ratio and less weight which is perfect for a summer camping.
Big Agnes Tiger Wall vs Nemo Hornet, they are both the top models of their brands, although they are both great, one of them is better for you depending on your condition.
Both of the tents have 1p and 2p options, but for the sake of precise comparison of the specs, I have compared Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL 2P and Nemo Hornet 2p. BUT you can use this guide for 1p models as well (the only difference between 1p and 2p models are the dimensions).
If you want the quick answer, although both tents’ sizes are nearly the same, Tiger Wall’s bigger when pitched and smaller when packed. When compared with the Hornet, its floor area is 0.5 sq ft and the vestibule area is 0.9 sq ft bigger on each side (also Tiger Wall has more clips to widen the canopy, thus creating a bigger room in the tent). Tiger Wall packs down 1″ smaller compared to the Hornet. When it comes to weight, Nemo Hornet is better since it’s 2 oz lighter than Tiger Wall. Last but not least, both tents have a high mesh ratio, Big Agnes Tiger Wall‘s mesh ratio is slightly higher than Nemo Hornet, which makes it a better option for summer camping.

Big Agnes Tiger Wall vs Nemo Hornet: Capacity
Inner Capacity
Although both Tiger Wall and Hornet offer enough room for an ultralight backpacking tent, the floor size of Tiger Wall (28 sq ft) is %1.8 bigger than the Hornet (27.5 sq ft).
Note: You should know that 27.5 sq ft and 28 sq ft is a small area for 2p camping but in order to have an ultralight gear you need to compromise on such things as floor area.
One of the most important factors for inner capacity is the HEIGHT, especially for big fellows out there, but luckily both tents’ height is 39″.
The more clips used for attaching canopy to the poles the more room you will have. That being said, Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2 has more clips compared to Nemo Hornet, therefore it offers more room than Nemo Hornet.
Vestibule
Both of the tents have two doors, and two vestibules at both sides (it’s an important factor when buying a 2p tent to not disturb each other at night when you need something from your backpack).
Big Agnes Tiger Wall’s vestibule area (8 sq ft) is %12.6 bigger on each side compared to Nemo Hornet’s vestibule area (7.1 sq ft).
Weight and The Pack Size
Even though weight isn’t the only factor to look for when buying backpacking gear, it is the most important factor. Nemo Hornet 2p weighs (2 lbs 6 oz) %5 lesser than Tiger Wall UL2 (2lbs 8 oz).
Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2 packs down to Ø 5.5″ x 18″ which is 8.3% smaller than Nemo Hornet 2P.
Note: If weight is extremely important to you I would recommend you to check out Nemo Hornet Elite 2p which only weighs 2 lbs 1 oz.
The second most important factor to look for when buying backpacking gear is the pack size, Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2 (Ø 5.5″ x 18″) packs down %8.3 smaller compared to Nemo Hornet (Ø 5.5″ x 19.5″).
Durability and Waterproofness
Generally, two tents’ durability is compared by their fabric density and two tents’ waterproofness is compared by their mm matric of the fabric, BUT unfortunately, Big Agnes doesn’t provide any information on the density and mm matric of its fabric.
Therefore there is no way to compare them by numbers, but I have read almost every review on the internet, and there is not a single bad opinion about the durability and waterproofness of Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2 and Nemo Hornet.
The footprint is strongly recommended for increasing the longevity of your tent. Nemo Hornet Footprint and Big Agnes Tiger Wall Footprint don’t come with the tents. You need to purchase the footprint separately.
