Inner Capacity
Both Big Agnes Tiger Wall and Copper Spur’s floor area has a tapered design with the dimensions of 52″ at head side, 42″ at the feet side. BUT Copper Spur is 2″ longer than Tiger Wall with the dimensions of 88″. Therefore Copper Spur’s floor area is 1 ft² (%3.5) bigger than the Tiger Wall’s floor area.
Vestibule
Vestibule area is highly important to keep your gear outside and have enough room in the tent, especially if you are into long backpacking trips.
Copper Spur has 9 ft² of the vestibule areas on each side while Tiger Wall offers only 8 ft² vestibule areas on each side.
Size Comparison
Liveable Place
The more the clippers (to attach the canopy to the poles) the more Liveable Place you will get (since the clippers widen the canopy to create a roomy area). With that being said, Copper Spur uses more clippers with a better clipper orientation, thus creating a better liveable and roomier place in the tent as you can see in the picture below.
Note: They’re both easy to pitch, it takes around 5-6 min to set up both Tiger Wall and Copper Spur.
The Durability of Tiger Wall and Copper Spur
Copper Spur is a freestanding tent with more robust construction, on the other hand, Tiger Wall is a semi-freestanding tent.
Both tents’ canopy and floor fabric are respectively made of Ripstop nylon/polyester mesh and Silicone-treated patterned double ripstop nylon with a waterproof polyurethane coating, they are highly durable compared to other 2p ultralight backpacking tents.
BUT I should also mention that there are a few complaints about the tents being torn off when used in bad weather conditions and extreme camping.
Also, to increase the longevity of your tent, a footprint is strongly recommended. Big Agnes doesn’t provide a footprint with the tents, so you need to purchase Big Agnes Tiger Wall Footprint and Big Agnes Copper Spur Footprint separately.
If durability is the number one priority for you then check out my article where I compared MSR Hubba Hubba and Copper Spur.
